2018 is on its way out and most of you will have mixed feelings about the year.
You may have seen many of your dreams come true. Goals set in January have been reached and perhaps even exceeded. New and old friends have been on this journey with you. Some of them you may have lost along the way and others have joined you only recently.
There have been disappointments. People you least expected it from have let you down. Plans have gone pear shaped. Unexpected barriers have popped up along the way. You may have fallen out with someone you love very much.
And now you are facing the final little stretch. It may be that you have a fantastic night ahead of you. It could also be that arrangements have fallen by the wayside for one reason or another. Whichever way it is, you’ll be saying goodbye to another phase of your life and making resolutions for the next one.
Some of my resolutions pop up on my list every year. And I have to come to terms with the fact that I didn’t succeed in that area. Others I can tick off, sometimes surprisingly and make room for some exciting new ones. So what’s the magic bullet? Focus! What you focus on manifests. What you don’t…doesn’t.
Whatever your New Year’s resolutions happen to be, I’d like to suggest one to add: In 2019 make a point of only going where you are truly celebrated and not where you are merely tolerated. That may been de-cluttering your inner circle of ‘everybody.’ There could be some members who no longer belong and others who are waiting in the wings in the hope of joining. Mull over this for a bit. Is that toxic fre-nemy or family member still deserving of the space, or could you quietly move them to an outer circle? Wouldn’t a new friend, who totally gets you, be a better fit? ’cause here’s the thing you may not have realised…we chose our ‘everybody’ (thank you Martha Beck.)
So what I am really saying is that you create your own reality. Yes, you actually do. Perhaps it’s time to embrace this fact, once and for all. And the same goes for me.
My wish for all of you, is that you re-examine your inner circle, mull over each and everyone who is occupying a space there and then quietly make the changes you need to make 🙂 You will be amazed at the outcome.
Happy 2019!
